Guiding Light is an American television soap opera that is credited with the Guinness Book of World Records because the longest-running tv drama in history, broadcast before 2009, countered with a broadcast on radio. Guiding Light stands like the 3rd longest-running application broadcast history in all. The country music radio app Grand Ole Opry and only the children's radio app Lørdagsbarnetimen have been to the air .
Guiding Light started as an NBC Radio serial, also Was Made by Irna Phillips. Throughout June 2, 1947, that the series was moved to CBS Radio. It'd last being broadcast on radio before June 29, 1956. The series was enlarged from 15 minutes to a half-hour throughout 1968, and then to a full hour on November 7, 1977. The series broadcast its 15,000th televised episode on September 6, 2006.
On April 1, 2009, it was announced that Guiding Light was canceled by CBS after a 72-year run due to low ratings. The series taped its final scenes for CBS on August 1 1, 2009, along with its final installment on the network aired on September 18, 2009. About October 5, 2009,'' CBS substituted Guiding Light of Let's Make a Deal, with an hour-long resurrection, hosted by Wayne Brady.
