The Green Park
For more than 40 years, the Green Park Hotel on England's southern coast attracted waves of Jewish immigrants. The hotel was in a beautiful location with a beautiful beach. An example of resorts in the Catskill Mountains, this was a European version. It was a place to be seen, where the only thing more famous than the service was how many gourmet kosher foods there were to try. Young lovers who met their future spouses there often came back years later, sometimes with their own children, to meet their new spouses again. People who used to stay at the hotel and work there share their memories, photos, and home movies, which show a simpler, happier, and more prosperous time. In more ways than one, The Green Park isn't just an old hotel. It's also an emotional reminder of the Anglo-Jewish community's cultural roots and how they came to be in the first place in the United Kingdom.
