Petticoat Junction
Petticoat Junction is an American situation comedy. The show is one of three inter related shows about characters created by Paul Henning. The personalities"seem" to attend Hooterville for some goods and services, including senior school and the hospital, however prefer Pixley for grocery buying, beauty parlors, and pictures.
This title's petticoat is an garment once worn beneath a female's skirt. This series' opening titles featured a display of petticoats at which the three teenage daughters are bathing in the nude or skinnydipping hanging onto the face of the railway water tower. In reality, the show's opening theme contains a sign of sexual innuendo in the line,"Lotsa curves, without a doubt, as well as more if you can the Junction." This is a clear double entendre discussing the Bradley daughters and both train tracks. However, as Linda Kaye says on the state season one DVD set, the name of the town Hooterville was not really just a reference to the slang word"hooters" meaning breasts, because term was unusual in the 1960s.
