Match of the afternoon could be the most important football television program of your BBC. On average, it is shown on BBC One on Saturday evenings through the English football season, showing highlights of the matches of this day in English football's top division, the Premier League. It is but one of the longest-running shows of those BBC, though it has not been flown regularly, with been on air since 22 August 1964. The programme is currently broadcast in Salford Quays on the banks of the Manchester Ship Canal out of MediaCityUK in Greater Manchester.
