Degrassi Junior High
Degrassi Junior High is a Canadian CBC Television teen drama show that was produced as part of the Degrassi series from 1987-1989. The series followed the lives of a band of students attending the titular literary faculty. Many episodes handled topics like child abuse, drug use, teenage pregnancy, homosexuality, homophobia, racism, and divorce, and the show was acclaimed for its realistic and sensitive portrayal of the challenges of lifespan. The throw comprised mainly celebrities, which added into the series's sense of realism.
The show featured many of the celebrities who'd starred on the children of Degrassi Street a few years earlier in the day, including Stacie Mistysyn, Neil Hope, Anais Granofsky, Sarah Charlesworth and others. Yet, family situations and their personality names were changed, so Degrassi Junior High cannot be viewed a direct spinoff.
The counsel for several of the episodes was Stephen Stohn who became the executive producer of Degrassi: The Next Generation. The show was filmed at the Vincent Massey Public School at Etobicoke, Ontario.
