The Landlord

At the age of twenty-nine, Elgar Enders "escapes" from his family and moves to a new city. This "running away" involves purchasing real estate in a black ghetto located in the Park Slope neighborhood of Brooklyn. The first step in his plan is to turn the building into upscale condominiums while simultaneously evicting the black people who already live there. Elgar, however, is not the type of person to be constrained by the impulses of the previous day, and it is not long before he has other things on his mind.
