Sabre Dance

Cold fall of 1942. 2nd year of warfare. Former Molotov city, that has been renamed into Perm after the warfare. The Leningrad Academic Theatre of after Kirov Opera and Ballet is evacuated here and in the Practice of trainings to Gayane ballet's premiere. A theatre in evacuation's entire planet is hungry, cryptic and cold. Life, together with all its wartime period tokens of this front. Half-starved ballerinas, corps de ballet members, who develop in to"Pink Ladies" on stage. Performances in hospitals, spectacles, shield factories and boundless rehearsals. Efforts to produce Gayane coincide with the creation of this symphony's tact overlapping. In 8 hours Khachaturian composes the creation that is most completed.
